We are the Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (OSIPTEL by its Spanish Acronym), a decentralized public entity responsible for regulating and supervising the telecommunications public services market, independent from the operating companies. OSIPTEL is attached to the Prime Minister's Cabinet.
It was created on July 11th, 1991, by Legislative Decree No. 702 and started its activities with the establishment of its first Directive Board on January 26th, 1994.
Our General Rules (Supreme Decree No. 008-2001-PCM) were published in the El Peruano official Gazette on February 02nd, 2001
